Olympic Medal Concept Design
Designed a physical medal concept and visual identity system for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. Focused on translating West African cultural motifs into a modern, three-dimensional physical artifact through digital rendering and texturing.

Creative vision
For the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, I designed a concept titled "Youth's Roar." The design centers on a dynamic lion's mane to represent the raw energy, determination, and forward motion of young athletes.
My goal was to combine traditional West African heritage with a modern, tactile aesthetic that resonates with a new generation of global champions.
Digital craft
To bring this physical concept to life, I built a digital rendering pipeline in Photoshop. I mapped out the vector paths, then applied precise layers, bevels, and metal textures to simulate a realistic embossed finish.
This process allowed me to capture how natural light would hit the curves and recesses of the physical medal, establishing realistic depth and weight.

Technical constraints
A beautiful concept is useless if it cannot be manufactured. I designed the entire layout within the strict bounds of physical minting and metal stamping.
The flowing lines of the lion's mane were engineered as clean, mathematically structured layers, ensuring the design can transition perfectly from a digital file to a physical steel mold.
Competition submission
The final submission package included high-fidelity, multi-angle renders showing how the medal looks in hand.
I delivered the project with exact material specifications and fully organized, layered master files, presenting a culturally meaningful concept that is entirely ready for physical production.
